Is there any best-practice guide on how to import meshed CAD models without "sub-meshing" all source elements? They are just difficult to work with. In my case, however, I couldnt delete all the small faces using the CAD repair tool. Therefore, I would like to ask for some help in importing .sat-files to COMSOL.
Even though in the CAD-programme (Rhino) I am able to form a union, it fails in COMSOL. The model works with COMSOL 3.5a version) Basically, I am working on "Transport of Diluted Species" module, where I want periodic condition from left and right of my slab of brick Some elements are not of high quality but I am not intending to modify the millions of mesh cells in the source material (Abb. 2).
What I do want to change/modify is how COMSOL handles these source meshes for its internal mesh calculation. So, maybe you can solve your problem by decreasing the surface detail (in the CAD software that you use during modelling).
Thanks. In my sense, if the iteration number increase the error should be decreased (attached pic). are available. View 1 Replies View Related AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Label Styles - Importing Into A Drawing? What am I doing wrong in the import workflow that the sphere gets meshed in such a strange way?
prior to doing the import. See my sphere example in the attachment (Abb. 4-6). I know with UG, it's a seperate license, perhaps he doesn't have an IGES translator? Do you fuse surfaces together to yield a volume?
My geometry consists of parts of the human heart that were obtained from MRT scans (atria, ventricles as well as right and left blood cavities filling the interior of the heart) What am I doing wrong in the import workflow that the sphere gets meshed in such a strange way? My question is now: These imported IGES-structures are a mesh already (see Abbildung 1 in the attachment). Dec 1, 2013 I bought Adobe CC 5 days ago and everything worked fine.

If the workflow is not working for a simple sphere already, it is obvious that the whole body model is nearly useless. When the geometry is very complicated like in the case of a screw-hole I had support to mesh it for me with the mesher from 3.5...
