Now the process goes along smoothly, but nothing changes. When I turned it back on, the same story went again all the way until it shuts down. his comment is here

After 6-7 cycles of auto reboots this appeared on the screen... ...after which the computer shut itself down. I've tried verifying and repairing the disk, but that didn't work either. Run Disk Utility Verify/Repair Disk and Repair Permissions until you get no errors.
